Aug. 5 - Babiččině údolí (Grandmother's Valley)

The Ratibořice castle and the valley are visited mainly due to the work of the Czech national novelist, Božena Němcova (1820 - 1862). Her novel „Babička“ (The Grandmother) created an idealized image of her childhood and early youth, which she spent with parents, siblings and beloved grandmother in Ratibořice. The book tells the life of rural people, their everyday worries and joys.
