Aug, 22 - Hradec Králové

The Sokol Hall, across the river from where our bus parked.

Muzeum východních Čech v Hradci Králové (Museum of Eastern Bohemia)

Art Deco Display

Christmas Card idea - anatomically correct baby Jesus?

A strange statue I was quite taken with. "Symbolická postava města Hradce Králové z prúčelí muzea" (Symbolic figure of the town of Hradec Králové on the facade of the Museum), Stanislav Sucharda, 1911 - see third photo above.

Pomník Boženy Němcové (Memorial Božena Němcova), Josef Škoda, 1941

Windows by František Kysela, (1881 - 1941) who also did some of the windows in St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague.

Walking tour of the town

Bílá věž (the White Tower) in the background with the clock

The White Tower on the right, Renaissance bell tower, completed in 1589, with the second largest bell in Bohemia.

Gold symbols on the steeple that meant that a Pope had visited this church.

Views from the top of the White Tower:

The large bell

Welcome to church!

Bílá věž - What we had climbed!
