August 19, 2014 - Vienna



Very full day trip to Vienna today! Too late to deal with all the photos, so just a teaser!

Lucie lived in Vienna at various times during her education and has wanted for some time to share some of her favorite spots. We finally had a chance to do that yesterday.



Karlskirche

Overlooking Resselpark is the magnificent Karlskirche, a Baroque church commissioned in 1713 by Emperor Charles VI. An 18th century Habsburg domed cathedral with a 32.5m platform for views of the ornate frescoes.

Peterskirche

The Peterskirche is a high baroque church with an overwhelming interior excessively decorated with gilded sculpture groups and magnificent ceiling frescoes.
